Puaka Matariki Workshop | Whetū Seed Bomb Making

June 29 | 2:00 pm - June 30 | 4:00 pm

Come join us this Puaka Matariki weekend to celebrate the Māori New Year with our whānau-friendly workshop. Make whetū (star) native seed bombs while learning more about the significance of Puaka and each star in the Matariki cluster.

As the lone star Puaka and Matariki cluster reappear in our midwinter skies, it’s a time for coming together – to learn, share stories, pass on knowledge, honour our ancestors, and plan for the year ahead. So, head to the Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum this Māori New Year for a moment of reflection in this fun educational workshop suitable for everyone.

No booking required, drop-in.
