Puaka Matariki: I Tō Mātou Wāhi, In Our Place features hand-painted pou created by talented Ashburton College students in collaboration with our Educator Katie Graham. Each pou represents a star, and together, symbolise our region’s connection to Puaka and Matariki.

What moments in time did the Ashburton Guardian photographers capture around Whakatere Ashburton throughout 1975? In Caught in the Moment: Guardian Photographs of 1975, a selection of photographs from our large collection of negatives will take visitors on a journey across various aspects of life in our district 50 years ago.
