Finger-knitting workshop with Wesley John Fourie

February 2 | 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Wesley John Fourie’s exhibition ‘and with his kiss i became a braided river‘ showcases a total of 2100 metres of finger knitting, mimicking (at 1/100 scale) the branches of Whakatere Ashburton river. Wesley works across multiple media, but one element of their practice is the production of hand-knitted scale models of rivers, including Te Awa Tupua Whanganui River and the Murray River in Australia.

Join us at this special workshop to learn the process of finger-knitting with Wesley. Wesley will teach us how to knit using only our hands – no needles are required, making it the perfect introduction to knitting for beginners.

This workshop is suitable for both adults and children 5+ years old. Please register here to secure a spot – all are welcome!
